West Sussex County Council voted yesterday by 37 to 26 to reverse its decision made in July 2013 to support expansion of Gatwick Airport. It was agreed, via a majority vote, that the authority would now oppose expansion at the airport following the achaten-suisse.com high level of opposition that has been raised locally over the environmental impact and infrastructure implications of a second runway at Gatwick.
Gatwick said it was disappointed by WSCC’s decision.
I would like to add my name to oppose the expansion of the of Gatwick airport. I live in Groombridge East Sussex and in the Summer we have to contend with the continuous drone of aircraft The numbers and the hours they are flying is continuing to increase later into the night and early hours of the mornings, that on a Hot Summers night you are needing to close your windows.
It seems extremely unreasonable to concentrate the flow of aircraft into one particular route, when the whole of the South East have the benefit of the services provided by Gatwick airport.
